Interesting conditions

The Conditions the past 2 days have been extremely variable. No snowmaking from just before chicken pitch down, so its been only natural snow on Chicken pitch and Lower Tote. Upper Tote Road is quite rough, and chicken pitch is barely passible, but should get better tonight when the guns fire back up.Scoot and Windrow were open today and were not bad, but the snow was very sticky from the fog and drizzle. Kings Landing was open too and was actually quite nice. Conditions should improve by the weekend.

No Skiing for Thanksgiving

This is the first year in a long long long time that I have not skied on Turkey day, temps have been just slightly too warm to make snow. Looks like Snowmaking could start up Friday night or saturday with an opening early next week. The snowmaking system should be ready to go full steam once the cold gets here, the snowmakers have spent the past few weeks testing everything.

Snowmaking to open started this morning on upper Tote Road and will switch to Lower Tote as an inversion sets in. Opening day has been postponed.

Not Opening Friday

Looks Like Temps will prevent Sugarloaf from Opening Friday, but hopefully it wont be long after that.

Snowmaking Tonight?

Looks like we may finally see snowmaking temps tonight, but I have not heard if they plan to start tonight or tomorrow night, hopefully soon. The Snowmakers are working today setting up equipment and getting ready.

1 Week until opening day

Opening day is next Friday, no snowmaking yet, we've had some weird inversions and Sugarloaf wont make snow above 28 degrees. The Snowmakers continue to check the system and should be ready to go when temps allow. The Snubber chair was being load tested today. Awesome bike ride today around the golf course and some of the touring center trails. I cant wait to ski.

New Snow

It snowed last night and the mtn is covered, but I think there is more snow in the valley. The Snowmaking crew fired up the guns on Upper Tote Road, but only for a few hours, they were doing final checks on all the new pipe they added this summer. Snowmaking to open could start as early as Sunday, thats when The entire snowmaking crew reports for work.
