Another foot of Powder

Its been a while since Ive posted anything, mostly because it was vacation week and everybody was here anyways. Conditions are now back to incredible thanks to over a foot of new snow yesterday. The front face of the snowfields is buried. The glades are incredible, just a ton of snow and now the groomers are back to packed powder.

EPIC

This whole week has been amazing, but Yesterday was EPIC. I got to the mtn just before 8am, put my boots, grabbed my skis and headed up to DRC, probably one of the first 15 maybe 20 people in line. It looked like DRC longside was going to open, the mechanics tried to get it, but it was just too windy, so they decided to use the bullwinkles transport instead to get people up to the t-bar. As we waited for the cat, the line became longer and people became restless. The beginning of the line moved a few times and unfortunatly some of the first people in line were edged out. I ended up getting on the first cat and was the last up the t-bar from that first group. I got to the top of the t-bar and hiked up to Spillway, stopped in the shack to rest for a minute and then skied across Spillway X-Cut and over to Cabin Fever(or whatever its called today) skied that and then went for a trek out to GForce where I found some EPIC powder. There was so much snow I could just point em and go, didn't really have to worry about picking up too much speed, I got face shot after face shot, it was incredible. I ended up at King Pine and skied Cross Haul back to the base where I found quite a long line waiting for the cat. I decided that one run was good enough and quit for the day.

Incredible Week

WOW, it has been an amazing week. Conditions have been absolutely amazing, words, even pictures, can't even begin to describe how incredible this week has been. I would have to say that Bubblecuffer has been the trail of the week, its covered in lots and lots of deep powder. The woods are buried, just about every stump is covered but still be careful because Im sure there are still some lurking around. All trails are packed powder and powder. Its been snowing every day, a few inches here and there and more is expected for Saturday night into Sunday. Snowmaking this week in The Yard, construction on some big jumps should begin soon. The Superpipe is open but has not been cut in a while because the Zaugg has been broken.

Today was incredible

Today was a great day, it was a bit windy, King Pine and Spillway were open for a little while this morning but then went on wind hold, Timberline was on wind hold all day. We got about 6 inches of snow early this morning and conditions were incredible, there was almost nobody out for first tracks, so I found some incredible first tracks. First tracks in Cant Dog, GForce, Token Road, Pipecleaner and Double Bitter. More snow is expected over the next few days.
