Turned Out to Be a Great Day

After yesterday's weather, I wasn't really expecting conditions to be very good, but conditions today were surprisingly quite good. The Weather wasn't bad either, very little wind and lots of sun. Haulback was quite firm, but edgable, a few patches of ice. Ramdown was also quite firm. Boomauger was ungroomed and the left side had some great blown in powder, it was great, a little crusty be easy to break through. Whiffletree was very firm and scratchy. Cruiser was ungroomed and was actually quite nice. Winters Way had some windblown snow and firm bumps. Sluice was firm, fast and a little granular. Spillway was perfect first thing this morning. Double Bitter was incredible, the left side was all blown in and was incredible. Glancer was firm, fast and a lot of fun. Snowmakers fired up again this afternoon on The Yard, also a fan gun was going on The Landing.

Another Great Day

Today was incredible, bright blue skies, very little wind and excellent packed powder conditions. The Groomers really outdid themselves last night, conditions were incredible compared to yesterday afternoon. Glancer was perfect corduroy. Spillway was great in the bumps and the groomed. Winters Way was ok, the bumps have some good powder, but there's a lot of rocks and ice popping up. Gondi Line is ok, lots of good snow, but some hard packed and a few patches of ice here and there. King Pine was down for wind today and Widowmaker and Flume were still perfect corduroy at 4 PM. Timberline was in great condition, it was a little frigid at the top of the lift. Snowmaking is done until Thursday or Friday. Spillway East is down for the week for mechanical problems.

Powder Keg full of Powder

Today was a great day, it was cold, partly sunny and no wind. Timberline ran today and White Nitro and Powder Keg were open, Powder Keg was full of Powder and probably more will blow in tomorrow as its going to be windy. Conditions are still packed powder, there are a few icy patches popping up here and there, but nothing to serious. The bumps are ok, a little firm but not bad. The bumps on Skidder are all powder with a little ice in between the bumps. Work has been going on at the Superpipe and it could open this weekend. White White World Week has been going on this week, but its been very mellow. The Dummy Jump today was quite Sucktacular, it was on the landing again and was even less exciting than last year. Snowmaking today on Gondi Line, and White Nitro.

A Bit Windy Today

Today was a pretty good day, it was cold and windy but conditions are great. Everything is packed powder. The bumps are ok, I skied Winters Way today, lots of good powder but also some rock hard scratchy bumps. Almost all lifts were open this morning but started shutting down quickly when the wind picked up, wind should be less of an issue tomorrow. Snowmaking still going strong in the Superpipe and on the Aerial Jump.

Whiffletree wasn't bad, guns were going on it all day. Timberline was open today, the only way down was the timberline trail, visibility wasn't too good, it was very foggy and the guns were cranking, the trail wasn't too bad. This morning all lifts were on wind hold, but around 11:30 The three s's opened and then the Superquad opened around 12:15. Conditions were not nearly as bad as I expected, Sluice and Hayburner were firm with patches of ice but very edgable, the groomers did an amazing job. Kings Landing was a little better, the snowmakers fired up the guns this morning and there was a coat of new snow, it was a little wet, but not bad at all. Sugarloaf Closed Today

As of 9am this morning, Sugarloaf closed for the day for wind and conditions. Skidway ran for a little while but even that closed for wind. We have lost a lot of snow over the past few days, but thanks to the 100 inches of snow we got in December we still have decent coverage on the trails.

Busy Busy Saturday

Today was a very busy Saturday, all parking lots were filled. The Superquad was down all day and the lift lines at Whiffletree and Spillway were at times GIANT. The line for Whiffletree was almost 20 minutes and Spillway around 10 minutes. There were no lines at King Pine and Timberline. It was mostly Cloudy today and relatively warm with a very slight breeze at the top. The Backside was open today, but only for today, it didn't have enough snow to handle the traffic. Snowmakers were out today on White Nitro and Wedge but shut down this afternoon.

Plenty of Powder

Today was another incredible today. The groomed trails, ungroomed trails, glades, they are all covered and amazing. This morning it was quite cold, but temps warmed up throughout the day and it was quite nice in the afternoon. The bump trails all have the softest bumps I've ever seen at Sugarloaf. and the glades are buried. It was a little windy today so a few lifts were on wind hold, but tomorrow temps will be in the 20's, should be very little wind and sunny. Snowmakers are still hard at work, making snow on White Nitro, and the Superpipe with a few other guns here and there.
