Vacation Week

I have not skied the past few days because of the blackout days. I have heard the conditions are decent and the new snow today really helped things out, a lot of trails are reopening. Snowmaking has begun in the Superpipe

Bullwinkles is open

Today was a great day, it was sunny, no wind, and the conditions were quite good. Ramdown was the trail of the day, it was groomed out good and was only a little granular. Whiffletree was quite firm and granular. Skidder was groomed out, a little granular but not bad. Spillway was much better today, much less granular. Bullwinkles is now open with the new addition, it looks good, be sure to stop in a check it out. Snowmaking today on Widowmaker, Flume, Tohaul, Haulback and the Tube Park.

Merry Christmas

What a great day. today was sunny, a little windy and somewhat warm. Conditions are great considering the rain we got a few days ago. Narrow Gauge was hard and fast but edgable, Spillway was kinda granular with icy patches, Sluice was great, the ride side was good, the snowguns were blowing some great snow. Kings Landing was great, the snowmakers and groomers did an awesome job. Bridle Chain was very hard packed and scoot was firm, but edgable. today snowmaking took place on Hayburner, Sluice, Upper Tote Road and Comp Hill. It was a little windy so the t-bar ran today. Bullwinkles was open today with free hot coco and coffee. One of new fan guns is ready to go.

Merry Christmas

I know I have not updated the ski report as often as usual, thats because conditions have been so incredible. Yesterday temps warmed up and last night unfortunately we got some rain last night. First thing this morning all lifts were on conditions hold, but by noon The Superquad and Spillway East were open. My first run, I skied Spillway, it wasn't good, but wasn't nearly as bad as I expected, then skied Sluice, it was kinda granular and firm, but expected it to be worse. Hayburner was quite a surprise, the groomers did an amazing job, it was all packed powder with just a little granular. Tote Road was much better than I expected, it was firm but edgeable. The Snowmakers fired up Kings Landing and Tote Road this morning and started on Sluice around noon and plan to fire up Hayburner.

Even with all this snow, the Snowmakers are still hard at work, tonight they are making snow on Timberline, Whiffletree and the Tube Park

The new carpet lift was running today. Snowmakers were on Ramdown, Spillway X-Cut and Timberline today, but the guns will be shutting down for a break. 1-2 feet of snow is expected tomorrow. The wind started early this morning and got stronger through the day, by 11am all lifts were shut down. Conditions today were amazing, we got a few inches of snow last night which freshened up the natural trails a little. Snowmakers are working on Ramdown and Upper Whiffletree and Spillway, moving on to Spillway X-Cut and Timberline Soon.

Another Great day

Another great day here at Sugarloaf/USA, Conditions are still excellent. Temps today were in the teen and low 20's and it was sunny for a lot of the day. Kings Landing and Hayburner were all packed powder as was Tote Road. Narrow Gauge was mostly granular and hard packed. Winters Way and Double Bitter are great for this time of year, there are some rocks but the bumps are incredible. Upper Timberline isn't too bad on the left side. Lower Comp Hill was nice carvable man made snow.

Snowmaking today on Comp Hill, Scoot, The Yard. Upper and Lower Spillway. Snowmaking will soon start on Timberline.

Stopped at Bullwinkles today, its looking good, but there is still a lot of work today.

An Incredible Week

This week has been incredible, the whole mtn is covered, a good 18-20 inches of powder earlier this week. Snowmaking has not stopped and Narrow Gauge is buried. Sluice, Hayburner, Skidder, Kings Landing and Tote Road have been groomed and there nothing but Packed Powder, all other trails are powder with the occasional rock. Temps are supposed to stay cold, so snowmaking is going to keep going full force, its truly amazing the quality of the snow thats being made this year.
