Sunny, warm and no wind, you would think that would make for a perfect day, but no, it was very crowded and the conditions were horrible and in places it was dangerous. There was some good snow out there and lots of powder to be found, unfortunately it was all surreounded by ice. Old Winters X-Cut was a sheet of ice and should not have been open.
Today cars were parked on the road.

What a windy day, King Pine, Spillway and Timberline were down today because of wind. The Line at the Superquad was huge, the single line was probably the longest ive ever seen. We got about 6 inches of snow last night and now have about 80 trails open. The Superpipe is now open, but it needs some work to make it good, considering the weather we had, its amazing its open. Bucksaw was open today for the first time.
Snowmaking today on Upper Tote Road, Kings Landing, and the Tube Park.

What a nasty day, some rain, then a little snow, then rain again followed by Sleet and freezing rain, then snow again. We probably ended up with 3-4 inches of snow today. Most of the mtn was on conditions hold today, the highest lift was DRC West. The conditions today was springlike corn. Norton was working on the pipe today, it could possibly open late tomorrow

Merry Christmas
Wow it was foggy today, well not all day, but a lot of the day. It was definetly hard to see. The SNow was good, well groomed and soft. Way to warm to make snow today. Timberline was on Conditions closure today.
Day #38

4 inches of new snow last night. It was warm today and cloudy, another flat light day. Timberline opened today and the trail was quite good, but of course you need to watch out for the right side, it can get thin. Windrow and Glancer are now open. Ramdown and widowmaker were great today.
No snowmaking today, it was too warm
Construction on the Superpipe has started

There was a little sun early this morning, but the clouds moved in and it became a cloudy, low light day. The temps rose to high so snowmaking has now shut down, Spillway East was closed this morning.
I skied Ripsaw, Haulback, Widowmaker, Ramdown, Boomauger, and Winters Way today. Ripsaw had a lot of snow, it was much better than I expected. Haulback was horrible, pretty much a scary sheet of Crust and Ice. Widowmaker and Ramdown were great, groomed very good. Boomauger was ok, but not as good as wednesday and Winters way still has great snow.
The Superquad was running on diesel backup this afternoon, not sure why, but that may not be a good sign, since its already been down 3 times this year.
Bucksaw and West Mountain will not run this week, So im sure there will be some unhappy homeowners.
The tube park is far from opening, but if it gets cold enough tonight, maybe they will blow some snow on it.

It was a cold start to the day, 8-10 below up top early this morning. The Superquad was closed again for most of today for maintenance. It was a nice sunny day, Haulback and Ripsaw opened this afternoon. Snowmaking today on Haulback, The Superpipe and Upper Timberline. Widowmaker was hard and fast today as was Flume. Ramdown was in great shape and Boomauger has some nice powder and bumps with a few rocks here and there. Timberline should open this weekend.
Norton will start building the superpipe soon.

Today was a great day, it was cold, but the snow was good. Sluice has finally reopened after 4 days of being closed to racing. Today was the last day of racing on Gauge, so that will finally be open again. King Pine opened today, but broke down for about 30 minutes this morning.
Snowmaking today on Haulback, The Superpipe, Upper Timberline and The Stomping Grounds this morning.
The Superquad will be closed on Thursday again for Maintenance, the 3 rd time already this season.
Some of the natural snow trails are in great shape now. Bubblecuffer, Double Bitter, Boomauger, Lower Gondi Line and Winters way are in somewhat good shape, still some rocks and stumps but not bad.
Tuesday, December 20, 2005
We got a little more natural snow today, but it was also windy up top, Spillway East was closed today. Snow was made today on Haulback, Timberline, The Superpipe and the Stomping Grounds. King Pine opens tomorrow. Narrow Gauge and Sluice were closed again today. Im not sure why the racers are using Sluice instead of Comp Hill, but im also not sure why Windrow has yet to open even though they made snow on it last week. Lift ticket prices are now $61 and will go up to $63 next week

Snowmaking today on Widowmaker, Flume, The landing, The Superpipe and The Stomping Grounds, by this afternoon the guns were shut down on The East Side and Timberline was fired up. The Superquad was closed until about noon for maintenance. We got a little natural snow this morning. Whiffletree looked much better today than yesterday but it still looks bad. Lombard X-Cut is very thin. If we dont get any natural snow Christmas week is going to be scary.
